In the heart of every 101 Copenhagen design lies a story, and the Foku Lounge Chair is no exception. Drawing its essence from the serene world of Japanese Zen gardens, the Foku, named after the Japanese word for 'fork', pays tribute to the timeless rake tools that have been used for centuries to craft intricate patterns in garden sand.
The chair captures the delicate art of raking these tranquil landscapes. The fluted seat design, reminiscent of the meticulous lines and waves formed in Zen gardens, offers a visual and tactile experience that both captivates and comforts. It's not just about the aesthetics, though; the chair has been thoughtfully constructed using multiple layers of select foam types. This ensures not only a soft, cushioned seating but also accentuates the chair's voluminous, sculptural appearance.
Versatility is at the core of the Foku Lounge Chair. Whether you're looking to create a singular statement or wish to combine multiple chairs for an expansive sofa lounge setup, Foku adapts seamlessly. Each chair is equipped with metal brackets, ensuring secure attachment when creating larger seating arrangements.
As for fabric choices, Foku comes in a chic Off-White Bouclé and a resilient Taupe fabric from Sunproof. Designed to withstand both indoor and outdoor conditions, the Sunproof Taupe fabric resists stains, water, and sunlight, making maintenance a breeze.
Under the expert craftsmanship of Kristian Sofus Hansen & Tommy Hyldahl, the Foku Lounge Chair by 101 Copenhagen transcends furniture design. It embodies a fusion of cultural history, art, and modern functionality, promising not just a seat, but a journey through time and tradition.
